Many thanks to Caroline Geers (marketing student, Howest, Bruges) for asking her team members to write down their views on the current IP in Bruges.
As usual, the first thing we did the third day at HOWEST in Bruges was listening to another short briefing in order to get the instructions we needed.
Afterwards we started our third round according to our strategy we had figured out at the beginning of MarkStrat. Everything went as we had planned and we ended fourth. For our next periods we made sure all our decisions were well discussed and entered in the computer before.
Then we could start having our lunch where we wanted to. But as a team we had decided to go and eat together. That’s also where our little ‘trip’ started. First we ate some Belgian fries at the fair. Later on we went for a walk in the city.

Saturday was one of the most exciting days so far. This was because of the football game which we had attended in the evening. But mostly because we were able to visit the most interesting places in Bruges.
We found the fish market, “Begijnhof” and “Stroofstraat” very charming and breathtaking. Walking in the small streets of Bruges felt like going back in time. Another tourist attraction that we found very interesting was brewery “Halve Maan”, where we were able to try one of the finest Belgian beers.
The evening part was also very exciting. Quite a big part of our group decided to go to the football match (Cercle Brugge – Westerlo). Although, the participation wasn’t very high (11.000 from 28.000 available) the support for the home team was beyond our expectations. We didn’t even know when we became a part of the show singing “come on Cercle” and other supporting songs. The home team scored a goal at the beginning of the first half and defended the score successfully until the last whistle. The game, especially in the second half, could be described as quick, exciting and interesting.

On Saturday we went on a sightseeing tour to get to know Bruges better. We also got a lot of information about the way of life in Belgium and we got to visit some extra places which weren’t marked on the tour map (such as the brewery).
Because we did the tour in our team, we had the time and the chance to get to know each other better, which raised our team spirit as well.

On Saturday morning we made some decisions about the marketing game MARKSIM. Then we went to Bruges to visit many beautiful places in the city centre. We took many photos of the interesting attractions.
We walked over many bridges, looked down to the water, passed many streets, statues and churches. We ate ice cream and also tried some Belgian beers too. We enjoyed it very much, unfortunately we got lost with Maria. However we visited many beautiful places accidentally. The weather was quite all right and was the nicest day in Belgium so far.
